Pictorial warnings still missing from cigarette and chewing tobacco packets

In a random survey conducted in New Delhi on Monday, manufacturers of tobacco products were found to have ignored the rule requiring them to include pictorial warnings on the packaging of tobacco products. This despite having been given more than six months to enforce the rule laid down by the health ministry.

Rural health, malnutrition get attention

Supply of free generic medicines, increased funding in public health sector and universal access to healthcare were some of the promises the Central government made prior to the budget. But none of the issues found a mention as Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee’s presented the budget in Parliament today.
