It is also called the Kerry-Boxer bill in reference to its co-sponsors, Senators John Kerry and Barbara Boxer. The bill is a successor to the American Clean Energy and Security Actalso known as the Waxman-Markey billwhich was passed in June this year in the US House of Representatives.
