The Cairo-based Arab Network for Human Rights Information has launched a website (www.anhri.net/en/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/ cartoonistguide.png), which it describes as a cartoonist’s guide to social networks. The website is meant to help Arab artists in using social networks for artistic production or publishing their production.
The site offers a number of simple presentations that give easy tips to improve the use of social media for an artist in support and proliferation of his work and his legal rights.
The network launched the website in cooperation with Noha Atef, social media researcher at University of Birmingham, and a number of volunteer comic artists and caricaturists. Atef believes the site will motivate more groups to use the news media and enrich the Arabic non-textual content on the Internet.
