Wild boar nuisanceWild boar nuisance: While trudging up the rough-hewn path that climbs steeply to the Sura muni shrine, I hear a warning shout. Mr. Mervyn Perera, who is trailing me, is waving his arms. “Be careful, those guys are dangerous guys, no?” Wild boar are the scourge of this plantation, as they plow the soil around tea bushes for succulent earthworms, found in plenty in the compost-rich soils of an organic tea estate. Read a previous piece about analog forestry and this piece. Great articles, new thinking very much needed. The sensibility portrayed here is remarkable.
