>> As Gambia’s president Yahya Jammeh marked the 17th anniversary of his rule on July 22, seven activists and journalists were charged with treason and sedition for distributing T-shirts with the slogan, “Coalition for Change— The Gambia: End Dictatorship Now”.

>> A graphic police training video showing Australia’s deadliest massacre has been leaked on the Internet and posted on Facebook and YouTube. The 12-minute footage shows images of the victims of the 1996 Port Arthur massacre in Tasmania when a lone gunman, Martin Bryant, shot 35 people dead during his rampage at the tourist site. He is serving a life sentence in prison.
