Pesticide companies in Pakistan are experiencing rough weather. The agriculture department of Sindh province recently decided to not register any pesticide product until it is certified to be environmentally safe, with no hazardous effect on humans and animals. The Sindh Pesticides Standarisation Committee said the environmental impact assessment of pesticides will be carried out by the Sindh Environmental Protection Agency.

To ensure transparency in the testing procedure, the practice of coding will be dropped and pesticides' samples will be sent directly to quality control laboratories, along with the names of brands and companies. The agriculture department will also hold agricultural workshops dealing with pesticide issues in Larkana, Sukkur and Sakrand.
