Malaysia reported more than 1,000 suspected cases of dengue, although, many turned out to be false alarms. 76 people have fallen to the disease so far, this year; 68 deaths were reported for the same period last year. Neighbour Singapore too, is fighting its worst dengue epidemic ever and has had around 10,000 cases and 10 deaths, this year. Even as Malaysia's main opposition party, Democratic Action Party criticises the government for its inaction, the country's health ministry has begun redeploying mosquito "search and destroy" teams in residential areas and construction sites.
