Pakistan's Sindh high court has issued a notice to the federal and provincial governments and to two companies on the cancellation of oil and gas exploration license in the Kirthar National Park (KNP). The petition was filed by a group of nine non-governmental organisations. The petition states that drilling for oil and gas by the Premier Exploration Pakistan Limited -- which has merged with Shell Pakistan BV -- will seriously jeopardise the future of KNP.
