Bhutan has sought the Indian government's assistance in controlling pollution from automobiles and enforcing stricter vehicular emission standards. The country also wants to implement pollution control norms as per Euro-I and Euro-II standards with India's help. Indian minister of environment and forests T R Balu said he would provide all possible assistance to Bhutan to bring its pollution levels under control. He reiterated India's firm commitment to enforce necessary pollution control devices at par with prescribed environmental standards in the world within a stipulated time.
