Controllers of the ill-fated Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) are struggling to bring the spacecraft under control. Mission controllers lost the craft at the end of June, but regained contact recently. However, the craft is spinning in such a way that its solar power cells get very little sunlight. The US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) says it may be a week or more before there is enough power to fire thrusters and correct SOHO's spin. In the meantime, it says, maintaining contact with the spacecraft is difficult.
