Bhutan will soon have an environmental law -- National Environmental Protection Act -- in place. Hanne Birgette Jenson, a legal and institution specialist on environmental management from Denmark, has been roped in to provide guidance. In Bhutan, environmental policies are not matched by law enforcing rules. The new law will make up for this lacunae and will encompass planning, implementation and enforcement. The law will be framed by the Danish International Development Agency and Bhutan's royal government.
