> Hepatitis B has affected nearly 200,000 people in Nepal. The disease is taking its toll on more number of people than AIDS in the world. According to an estimated figure, out of 40 per cent of the world's population infected by hepatitis 'B', of which nearly 80 per cent are in Asia alone. Hapatitis B virus spreads from the use of infected blood. If it remains in the blood stream for a long time, it can develop into liver cancer.
