The Delhi High Court is planning to restrict the making of noisy crackers. It has sought suggestions from the Delhi Fire Cracker Manufacturers Association in this regard. A division bench comprising of Chief Justice A P Mishra and Justice N G Nandi has asked the Association to submit before the court as to how the high level noise pollution created by crackers could be reduced. The court said that it would consider three aspects arising from the petition - licence grated for the sale of fire crackers, controlling of sulphur dioxide emitted from the crackers and the reduction of noise levels created by the bursting of crackers.
