CONSUMERS'IRE

Disgruntled with
the apathy of manufacturers
towards their complaints, a group
of frustrated PC users have taken a
"PC maker, Leading Edge Products
Inc of Westborough, Massachussets, to court. They have filed a case
of fraud and breach of warranty
contracts in the State Supreme
Court, New York, contending that
the company had failed to provide
i proper technical support. If at all
the users managed to get through
to the help-desk, the company officials would shrug it off as hardware
or software problem. According to
industry analysts, this is perhaps
the first case in which a PC maker
has been sued for poor help-desk
service.
