Lenses favourite

Contact lenses have undergone radical changes since their first trials on humans in 1888. There are now so many different types to choose from including fluoroperm, bifocal, disposable, coloured and cosmetic to name a few. The other options available are refractive surgeries like radical keratotomy and excimer laser photorefractive keratectomy. The earlier procedure is highly unpredictable and depends upon the surgeons' experience. The latter being computerised is more safe but it leaves a subepithelial scar which takes around six months to heal. These shortcomings are irreversible and hence contact lenses still maintain their own place and definitely have an upper hand over refractive surgeries.
