Cross border conservation: Wildlife experts from seven nations across South Asia have founded a wildlife enforcement network to tackle illegal poaching and trafficking of tigers, leopards and other wildlife species. The first meeting of the South Asia experts group emphasized an action oriented approach. Nepal has offered to host the network and act as its interim coordinator.
Lanka to import drugs: After blacklisting six Indian pharma companies last year, Sri Lanka has decided to import drugs from registered Indian companies. The public hospitals in the country are short on saline bottles and 319 essential drugs. A team of Lankan officials visited Mumbai to place orders for drug supply. The shortage was due to lack of coordination between the state agencies that import drugs.
