Imagine a world where you have all the information of the Internet and your favourite websites without even connecting to the Net. Well that's what a new service from a us -based company called Webaroo promises.

The software -- Searchable, Offline Web -- will allow consumers to browse and search web pages and sites on their handheld devices and laptop computers. It features web packs -- thousands of web pages -- on different subjects such as news, World Cup 2006 and major cities worldwide. Whenever your device is reconnected to the web, all packs and sites get updated with the latest information automatically. The obvious advantage is that it makes surfing superfast.

Webaroo has tied up with computer maker Acer to bundle the new software on its laptop. The company is co-founded by an Indian, Rakesh Mathur, who studied in the Indian Institute of Technology, Powai.
