The European Space Agency has created a website, miravi, which gives access to the most recently acquired images from the world's largest Earth Observation satellite, Envisat.

The un body's campaign comprises four print ads. One of them asks: "Where does the price of water cost more than in Central London?" The answer is, as the message rightly points out, "In a developing country slum".

Documentaries on Colombian Caribbean soon

Conservation Colombia A team of researchers and filmmakers will travel through the Colombian Caribbean from January 2007 to produce documentaries about endangered species and ecosystems. This television project includes the participation of the private channel rcn and Eco Films, Colombia. The team will spend a year in the area collecting material for the documentaries.

Lakshwadeep islands to be connected by Ham radio

Radio Lakshadweep Three islands in Lakshwadeep will be connected by ham radio for the first time on January 15, 2007. Ham radio operators will set up a base in Magatti, Bangaram and Kadmat islands as part of a ten-day international ham fest. After a year of intense lobbying, the National Institute of Amateur Radio, Hyderabad, has succeeded in getting permission from the Union ministry of communications and information technology to operate hams from Lakshadweep.
