Chaitanya Krishna is a mechanical engineer turned wildlife biologist. The rite of initiation from an automobile loving teenager to a biologist working towards wildlife conservation occurred through numerous visits to wildlife sanctuaries during his student days. A visit to Rollapadu Wildlife Sanctuary in Andhra Pradesh got him interested in grasslands and he has been working on grassland ecosystems ever since. In the long term, he wants to explore, study and conserve Indian grasslands. He also works on a collaborative research project in the Chambal river basin which aims to ensure availability of freshwater to both humans and aquatic fauna.
