June 2016 was the second warmest June in satellite temperature records, according to a press release by the University of Alabama Huntsville (UAH). June 2016 trailed June 1998 by 0.23°C, according to John Christy, director of the Earth System Science Center at UAH. May was the 13th month in a row to break temperature records according to figures which are the latest in 2016’s string of incredible climate records, described by scientists as an emergency
