Antarctica in a detailed mosaic

Published: Monday 31 December 2007

This first true-colour highly-detailed map of Antarctica offers a nearly cloudless and most geographically accurate view of the continent's frozen landscape. Built from satellite images taken between 1999 and 2001, this mosaic map will help researchers plan better scientific expeditions to the remote continent.
