Pollution of surface and ground water

The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has identified 351 polluted river stretches on 323 rivers during 2018, Babul Supriyo said in the Rajya Sabha. He informed that the CPCB was monitoring the water quality of both surface and ground water under the National Water Monitoring Programme, through a network of monitoring stations across the country. 

Progress on BS VI Vehicles Standards

The Union Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas informed that Oil Marketing Companies had achieved an average blend percentage of 6.2 percent ethanol in petrol as on June 17, 2019, during the current ethanol supply year 2018-19.

Refineries have planned to produce gasoline according to the BS-VI standard. This gasoline would continue to meet the BS-VI standard after ethanol blending, Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways said in the Rajya Sabha.
