Two physicists from France - Albert Manque and Jean Xavier Zweistein have claimed to have discovered the largest fundamental particle ever known. While experimenting with vacuum tubes, they found that the monitor on a nearby computer exploded when a large current was sent through one of the tubes. The high electric field in the one of tubes might have altered the energy state of the vacuum tube or the monitor, the scientists believe, and the field 'was just right to nudge a new particle into being." The scientists, aptly, have named the particle Bigon(Discover, April 1996).
