With oil prices going through the roof, the frenzy around biodiesels has intensified. The us Biofuels Exchange Inc.
(usbe) has thrown in its bit in the kafuffle. It has launched an internet biofuels platform which links biofuel producers
with buyers.
The platform works very similar to the emarketing portal, eBay; it has a rating system to track and follow deals, display real time pricing and
quantities on sale. A board member of the exchange, James Kaufman, told the us- based Ethanol Producer
Magazine that "the efficiency in the (biofuels) marketplace doesn't exist because there are too many 'back room' small deals and no central
exchange." Kaufman believes that the new exchange is set to change this.
