Millennium Development Goals EU
Eurobarometer, the European Commission's public opinion centre, recently conducted a survey to find out what the European Union (eu) should do to aid the Third World. The organisation did not know what lay in store: 88 per cent of those surveyed had not heard of the un's Millennium Development Goals (mdgs). And then only 29 per cent of those who had some knowledge of the mdgs said the eu should help halve extreme poverty and hunger by 2015. It's perhaps time that the eu educate its own citizens rather than pontificate the Third World.
