The Mumbai taxi union and several petrol pump owners have submitted a petition in the city high court regarding the difficulties faced by them to conduct pollution under control ( puc ) checks. The petrol pump owners say they do not have the manpower and adequate machinery to carry out the puc checks. They are seeking to be relieved of their responsibility of conducting the puc check. The high court had earlier directed the petrol pumps to first do a puc check and fill tanks only if the vehicle passed the test.
