smart delivery: UV light radiation can now be used to control drug delivery in the body. A new method
applies low UV light on the affected area after the drug intake. This helps trigger the release of the drug at the spot, ensuring delivery. The drug,
coated with a light sensitive chemical 3,5-Dimethoxybenzoin, will use polymer platforms. The technique, developed by scientists at the Queens
University in Belfast, Northern Ireland, is said to improve the efficacy of drugs. This could help regulate overdosing of drugs and their side effects.
supper player: Scientists from Copenhagen say playing soccer burns off more fat than jogging does. In the
study, those who played soccer lost more fat, their total mass of muscle went up, blood pressure fell and fitness ratings improved significantly. The
joggers were also trained 2-3 times a week, but their efforts showed smaller effect than that of the soccer players.
