imageSwedish furniture retailer Ikea has unveiled an eco-friendly digital camera, made almost entirely from cardboard, as part of the company’s advertisement campaign for new eco-friendly home furniture collection. The project aims to get buyers to click images of their furniture using the camera and post it on Ikea’s website.

After clicking 40 photos, users can dispose it of for recycling. Called Knappa, the camera will not be sold but given away to consumers in selected stores around the world, the firm’s spokesperson told BBC. Created by Swedish designer Jesper Kouthoofd, the camera runs on two AA batteries, and connects to a computer with help of a swing- out USB connector. It is Ikea’s most recent step towards consumer electronics after the retailer developed a home theatre line.
