india is getting a grant of us $82 million, for gradually phasing out the production of ozone depleting substances (ods) such as CFCs (chlorofluorocarbons).
This is the total funding that would be available to India from the multi-lateral fund established for the implementation of Montreal Protocol.
The grant, given over a period of 10 years, will provide financial compensation to cfc -producing enterprises for loses that will be incurred by them to meet annual production ceiling that were agreed to by India and the executive committee of the Montreal Protocol Multilateral Fund. It also includes a technical assistance programme to be implemented by India.
