>> Newspapers in Manipur stopped publication indefinitely from October 12. Cable networks have also stopped telecast. The media reaction is a response to threats by a rebel faction of the outlawed Peoples Revolutionary Army of Kangleipak (Prepak) asking newspapers in the state not to publish a statement released by one of its splinter groups.

>> A climate campaigner breached security at the British Museum in London to place masks on two terracotta warriors at an exhibition there. Martin Wyness said he made the protest to draw attention to the lack of international action on global warming. He hoped his actions would draw attention to China's growing role in the climate crisis.
