Coronavirus update: COP 26 Glasgow postponed

The 26th conference to parties (COP 26) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, scheduled to be held in Glasgow, United Kingdom in November 2020, to the next year. 

  • There were 937,976 cases positiveto the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2), as of April 2, 2020, according to aggregator Worldometer.
  • Among them, 695,338 were acrtive cases. Of them, 5 per cent were serious or critical.
  • There have been 47,279 deaths yet in the ongoing pandemic (COVID-19), according to the website. 
  • World Health Organization chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus praised Government Of India's Rs 1.74 lakh crore package to combat the novel Coronavirus disease outbreak (COVID-19) on April 1, 2020. 
  • India's tally of SARS-CoV-2 positive cases was 1,834 by 7:30 pm April 1, according to the Union Ministry for Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW).
  • Maharashtra led the table with 302 cases and nine deaths. 
  • Kerala followed with 241 cases; but the state has managed to contain the death toll at two.
