Constructions under high power transmission lines
The National Green Tribunal (NGT) on January 9, 2020 directed the administration in Bengaluru's Ashwath Nagar to look into the illegal construction of houses and shops under high power transmission lines without safety distance. A compliance report has to be filed before March 31, 2020.
Dumping of debris
The NGT on January 9 directed that measures be taken to ensure that muck and debris produced during the four-laning of the National Highway from Udhampur to Banihal in Jammu and Kashmir should not be dumped in the Chenab and Tawi rivers.
Illegal sand mining
The NGT on January 9 directed that steps be taken to ensure that no illegal sand mining took place in Odisha's Mayurbhanj district.
Dumping of solid waste
The NGT on January 9 directed the district magistrate of Sonbhadhra and the Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board to submit a report on the illegal dumping of solid waste near Raup village, Majholi Padadi, Sonbhadhra District Hospital and the protected forest area in Robertganj.
