Diabetics need not lose sleep over
their vulnerability to cardiovascular
diseases. The new discovery that
vitamin C infusions into the blood-
stream avert cardiovascular complications will certainly allay their
fears.
Certain chemical signals discharged by a diabetic result in
blood vessels loosing their ability to
constrict and dilate; which causes
heart problems. But Henry H Ting
and his colleagues at Brigham
Women's Hospital in Boston, US,
have discovered that when liquid
vitamin C is introduced into the
blood stream, it increases the
flexibility of blood vessels, thereby
preventing the damage to patients'
heart vessels.
