Gujarat to get India's largest solar park

Solar panels to be installed on rivers, dams
Since Maharashtra government is short of land to construct big solar plants, it will now let private companies install some panels on water bodies like rivers, dams, canals and ponds for a project aimed at generating 2,000MW power. Read here
Now, a lab to convert India's hydraulic energy potential into reality
While India has apotential to generate 20,000MW power from small hydro power projects, its present installed capacity is just 4,500MW. To harness at least 50 per cent of its potential in the next 10 years, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has set up a hydraulic turbine research and development laboratory at Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee.
