Cow urine, which is used in several ayurvedic medicines, can also generate electricity. Scientists working with the Rajasthan Gosewa Aayog, Jaipur, conducted an experiment at the state secretariat in which electric current was generated from cow urine. About one and a half litre of urine was put in a plastic container and two electrodes were immersed in it. This generated an electric current sufficient to run an electronic wall clock. The electrodes are made of zinc and copper.
