WITH the help of testicular sperm extraction with intracytoplasmic sperm injection (TSEICSI), even sterile men can
father children.
Researchers had already found that
even when ejaculated semen did not
have sperm, encounters could be
manipulated between immature, not-
willing-to-move sperms, even in men
who had blocked testicular ducts. But
with TEISCI, they do not even need
sperm, just cells from pre-sperm cells
would do.
Anirudda Malpani from Malpani
infertility clinic in Mumbai jubiliantly
says, "Our patient had azoospermia
or no sperm at all in his semen". This
means every man, no matter what
his medical problem, can father a
pregnancy using his own sperm and
sperm banks for donor insemination
m4y become obsolete.
