Nepalese herbs with anti-cancer properties of which little was known earlier, has stirred a lot of interest in the medical circles in Kathmandu. The leaf of Land Sallo, a herb found in plenty in Nepal, consists of a vital anti-cancer AW agent - Taxis regin - which is nowbeing used to produce Taxal, an anti-cancer drugs While scarce resources and equipment make it difficult for the Nepalese to produce Taxel, Worts are on to indigenously produce Taxis regin which will then be sold to buyers abroad.
