SC stops Reddy brothers: The Supreme Court on December 17 ordered the Obulapuram Company Ltd, owned by Karnataka tourism minister G Janardhana Reddy and his brother Karunakara Reddy, to stop all mining activities in the Bellary reserve forest on the border of Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka states while admitting an appeal filed by the Andhra Pradesh government. The court stayed the Andhra Pradesh High Court order allowing the Reddy brothers to continue mining in the reserve forest.
