New website launched

  Digvijay Singh (second from< the United Nations Development Programme ( undp ) recently launched its new interactive website the 'Human Development Resource Center' in New Delhi. The website is a wealth of information on human development activities in South Asia and chronicles the annual human development reports of undp .

While inaugurating it in a public meeting, the Madhya Pradesh chief minister Digvijay Singh said, "For 50 years we have built the state, now we should focus on building the people." Speaking about his state's tryst with decentralised human development programmes, he said, "We take people as the solution, not as problem."

Madhya Pradesh is the first state in India to come out with a human development report ( hdr ) on the line of the undp 's human development report. It also facilitated a joint workshop with the undp that inspired 13 other states to prepare their own hdr s. undp 's resident representative in India Brenda Gael McSweeney declared the undp 's establishment of a Human Resource Development Centre in Delhi to facilitate hdr s and their translation into policy outcomes and programmes.
