Amnesty International and Global Witness have published results of a survey which reveal that almost two years after the diamond industry committed itself to a system of self-regulation to prevent trade in diamonds from areas of conflict, retailers in the UK and USA have not lived up to their promises.
Many Tribes, Many Vibes, One love: That was the theme of a day-long celebration organised by Campaign Records and Come Together Records, UK on October 23, 2004. The campaign brought together disparate peoples through the medium of dance. The celebration was launched in association with Ring Around the Amazon (RATA) that aims to purchase and police a strip of land in the Amazon in an attempt to conserve what is left of the Amazon rainforest, and keep the loggers out. Profits will go to RATA for fundraising events.
