>> UNESCO has declared Peru’s Scissor Dance as an intangible cultural heritage.

Spanish colonists had banned the dance, calling it a pagan ritual to honour indigenous gods and myths.

>> Social networking site MySpace has turned to Facebook for help to drive users to its ailing site. The two have launched a new feature, Mashup with Facebook, which allows MySpace users to log into their Facebook accounts through MySpace page.

>> Delhi’s non-profits, Toxics Link and India International Centre, organised an environmental film festival Quotes from the Earth in December. It will have discussions on films and environment education.
