>> Journalists in Tunisia went on a hunger strike on October 17 to demand the inclusion of freedom of expression as a fundamental right in the country’s new constitution.

>> Walt Disney Co, the world’s biggest publisher of children’s books, has announced a new policy that aims at eliminating use of paper made with “irresponsibly harvested fiber” and maximise use of products that come from areas approved by the Forest Stewardship Council, a company statement noted.

>> German sportswear company Puma announced a range of biodegradable shoes and clothes as it tries to catch up with rivals Nike and Adidas in sales. The company said it would widen its accounting for the costs of its air pollution, greenhouse gases, waste, land and water use.
