>> Chinese scientists have warned that climate change is hurting the most famous draw in the northern city of Harbin--its annual ice sculpture contest. Average annual temperatures in the city perched on the edge of Siberia hit 6.6C last year, the highest average since records have been kept, and ice sculptures are feeling the heat.

>> A group of ngos have appealed to members of parliament to push for early implementation of effective pictorial warnings on tobacco product packages. The date for implementing the display of pictorial warnings on tobacco product packages was first put off to June 1, 2007, and thereafter postponed four times, the latest deferment being up to March 17, 2008.
