Nicotine against TB

Nicotine has potential to cure tuberculosis, which is caused by a bacterium, Mycobacterium tuberculosis, according to researchers at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, USA. The finding of the study reported by Reuters indicate that small amount of nicotine can kill the bacteria. Nicotine, is also used in cigarettes, but experts warn that smoking cigarettes would not help in curing tuberculosis.
