The Calcutta High Court has directed the West Bengal Pollution Control Board to consider all aspects of the manufacture and sale of fireworks and pass an order fixing the sound level of fireworks in the state. Burrabazar Fireworks Dealers' Association had filed a writ petition challenging the recent imposition of a ban on certain types of noisy fireworks.
