arm yourself with info
If you want to get yourself updated on your rights and legislation that could help you, is the website. It provides a comprehensive listing of conventions, rights, laws and acts. Included in the list are new laws ranging from the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, the Domestic Violence Bill to Right to the Information Act.

The website is a part of Aman Public Charitable Trust (APCT), a New Delhi-based NGO, which envisages a pro-active role for civil society in the reduction of conflict and the mitigation of its effects.

The website presents information, with a special weekly theme--say the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act--where it introduces readers to the key features of the theme, answers queries under a comprehensive section on frequently asked questions and presents media reports and articles for the purpose of reference.

The website also provides readers an opportunity to share their experiences and helps them with useful links from which they can download articles and use them giving due credit.

Besides this, it lists out the projects that APCT carries out. Pre-eminent among these are the organisation's campaigns for non-violent resolution of conflicts over social resources as well as caste conflicts.
