SAVING FALCONS

Published: Saturday 15 December 2001

Alarmed over the recent confiscation of 250 rare quality falcons at the Multan airport, the Pakistan government has imposed a ban on the export of the birds to save them from extinction. An official source said, "No Pakistani or foreigner would be allowed to export any kind of falcon from the country. Only those falcons would be allowed to be re-exported which the visiting Arab Sheikhs bring with them for hunting."
