Water Conservation Bhopal

This summer, advertising hoardings across Bhopal have been emblazoned with slogans such as "Pani se hota hai kalyan kahtain ye Ved Quran" (Water is the key to prosperity say the Vedas and the Quran). Faced with an acute water crisis, the Bhopal Municipal Corporation (bmc) has made it mandatory for every hoarding to have slogans on water conservation.

There are over 3,000 hoardings in the city. As of now 33 carry the message. The idea is to create awareness among the people, bmc commissioner Manish Singh said. The level of water consumption from wells, tube wells, tanks and rivers is being reviewed. An inventory of water available is also being prepared, Madhya Pradesh's public health engineering minister Rampal Singh said.
