Attention joggers: do you really want to be the most hated person in your local jogging park? That is what the St Louis-based firm SBH is promising. The US firm has come up with the idea of musical running shoes. The heel of the shoe contains a music memory chip. All you have to do is to plug the shoes into your music system, or an Internet music site, and 'record' some cool tunes. A motion-sensitive switch plays the music once you start running ( New Scientist , Vol 161, No 2171).
