Wash the fruits in running water, drain and dry the fruits. Open up each fruit to ensure that there are not infected with worms. Mash the fruits by hand. In a separate container, add dried red chillies, asafoetida and salt and pound into a coarse powder either by hand or in a mixer. Add jaggery and pound again. Add this paste with the mashed fruit and mix well. Take a small amount and pat into round shape, like a vada. Spread these on a butter paper on a plate and sundry them for 3-4 days until they are crisp.
